What VVeRecruit collects about you, why, who sees it, how long we keep it, and how to take it back.
Last updated: 21 October 2026
Who we are
VVeRecruit is an online recruitment consultancy run by Pillai InfoTech LLP (“we”, “us”). For the personal data you give us, we are the “Data Fiduciary” under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (the DPDP Act). You are the “Data Principal”. This policy applies to vverecruit.com and the sign-in areas for candidates, employers and recruiters that sit on its subdomains.
What we collect
Account data. Your name, email address, phone number, password (stored as a one-way hash, never in readable form) and the role you signed up as: candidate, employer or recruiter.
Profile and résumé data. If you are a candidate: your work history, education, skills, self-ratings on the tasks you do, location, salary expectations, notice period, and any résumé file you upload. You decide how much to fill in.
Company and role data. If you are an employer: your company details, the roles you post and the people who work on them. If you are a recruiter: your application, professional background and the candidates you submit.
Contact messages. Anything you send us through a form or by email.
Usage data and cookies. Pages visited, device and browser type, IP address, and the session cookie that keeps you signed in. We use a first-party session cookie because the product cannot work without it. Where we add analytics or advertising measurement, we will say so here and ask for your consent first.
Why we use it
- To create and run your account and keep it secure.
- To match candidates to roles and let recruiters and employers work those roles.
- To contact you about your account, a match, an interview or a placement.
- To prevent fraud and misuse, and to meet legal obligations such as tax and accounting records.
- To understand which pages work and which do not, using aggregate usage data.
We do not sell personal data. We do not use your résumé to build marketing lists.
Consent, and how to withdraw it
We process your data on the basis of your consent, given when you create an account or switch on a setting such as OPEN2WORK, and for the narrow “legitimate uses” the DPDP Act allows, such as complying with the law. You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing [email protected], or by switching the relevant setting off in your profile. Withdrawal is as easy as giving consent was. It does not undo processing that already happened lawfully, and it may mean we can no longer provide the part of the service that depends on that data.
Who we share it with
Candidates. Your identity is masked by default. Recruiters working a matching role see your skills, experience and the answers you gave, but not your name or contact details. An employer sees your identity only when an interview is scheduled, and only within the consent scope you set. You can see and change that scope in your profile.
Service providers. We use hosting, email and storage providers who process data for us under written terms and only on our instructions.
Legal and safety. We disclose data where a court, regulator or law enforcement agency lawfully requires it, or where it is needed to protect someone from harm.
Business changes. If the business is merged or transferred, your data would move with it under the same commitments in this policy, and we would tell you first.
How long we keep it
We keep account and profile data while your account is active. If you delete your account or ask us to erase your data, we remove or anonymise it, except records we must keep by law (for example invoices and tax records, which Indian law requires us to hold for several years) and records needed to resolve a dispute that is already open. If an account is inactive for a long period, we will email you before we remove it.
Your rights
Under the DPDP Act you can:
- ask for a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how we use it;
- ask us to correct inaccurate data or complete incomplete data;
- ask us to erase your data when it is no longer needed for the purpose you gave it;
- withdraw consent, as described above;
- nominate another person to exercise these rights for you if you die or cannot act for yourself;
- complain to us, and, if we do not resolve it, to the Data Protection Board of India.
Write to us from the email address on your account so we can confirm it is you. We will reply as quickly as we can and tell you what we did.
Grievance Officer
Grievance Officer, Pillai InfoTech LLP (VVeRecruit)
Email: [email protected]
Please tell us what happened, which account it relates to and what you would like us to do. Please raise your concern with us first; the Data Protection Board of India expects that.
Storage and transfers outside India
Where your data is stored depends on our hosting and service providers, and some of them may process data on servers outside India. Where that happens we rely on the DPDP Act, which permits transfers except to countries the Government of India restricts, and we ask those providers to protect data to the same standard as this policy.
Security
Passwords are hashed, traffic is encrypted in transit, access to personal data is limited to people who need it, and candidate identity is masked until the point described above. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your data, we will tell you and the Data Protection Board as the law requires.
Children
VVeRecruit is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has created an account, write to the Grievance Officer and we will remove it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a way that affects how we use your data, we will update the date at the top and email account holders before the change takes effect. Older versions are available on request.
